Wordle I Write About Next?

If there’s anything bloggers love more than writing, it’s statistics. Specifically, their blog statistics. I’m what you would call a stat-crazed blogger. I like to know how people are finding me and what they like most about my blog so that I can hopefully continue to entertain my readers. Because you’re what it’s all about to me.

I spent a bit of time playing with my blog and Wordle. I’m still playing, it’s highly likely that there will be subsequent posts about Wordle’s interpretation of my blog. This particular one is based on my current ten most viewed posts.

So let’s see here…

Wordle tells me that the most common word in my blog posts is “know“. Fair play Wordle, I do use it a lot. Although I’m sure that if we look more closely we’ll find that it is preceded by the words “I don’t“, “I didn’t” or “I’ll never“.

Wordle says that I talk about “things” more than “people“. This is very true – I don’t like to make presumptions about other people and I certainly don’t blog about others without their express permission. Still, maybe I should work on being a little more specific about exactly what “things” I’m referring to. Good idea Wordle, thanks for the tip.

I also mention “time” and “love” a fair bit according to Wordle. This isn’t very surprising though, given that I live in the future. Although maybe Wordle is warning me not to talk so much about love because I know little enough about it myself. It’s quite probable that because I live in the future, I shouldn’t be messing with love because we all know what happens when you start meddling with the past. Message received and understood Wordle.

Wordle informs me that the “World” is a relatively common theme in my popular posts. Which is nice – overall I’m a fan of the World. I’m glad I’m reaching an audience with similar opinions about this big ball of adventure. Thanks for the push Wordle, I’ll try to make this one stand out a little more in future.

I also talk about things I like, according to Wordle. Which is good, because I’m sure my blog wouldn’t be very popular if I talked about things I didn’t like. Or maybe it would, because some people blog very successfully about things they don’t like. I’m a little confused by this one Wordle, I won’t lie to you.

I don’t know about you all, but do you see what I see here? Wordle’s thrown in “Bella” and “Jacob” but I can’t see any mention of “Edward“… Is there something you want to say Wordle? Maybe you should have Wordles with Stephenie Meyer about how that all went down? I’m going to stay out of this one.

So, with a little help from Wordle I’ve gotten a clearer picture about the kinds of posts I should be focussing on. Primarily – things, things I like and things I know about. Or things I don’t know about, so that I would invest time in getting to know about them and maybe even end up loving them. I don’t know.

I think I’ll just carry on, wandering down this meandering and interesting path.

I haven’t played around with Wordle yet but sounds really interesting. And yes, the search terms people use to find me are fascinating. The blogosphere is on a Shera kick this week. Also someone wanted to find info about how old men pull their pants up higher. I was the natural destination I guess.

Hahaha, of course you would be the first person people would turn to for information about She-Ra and old men pulling their pants up! It’s surely a crazy place we’re writing in isn’t it? My search terms have been pretty tame thus far; hopefully over the next month there will be something interesting to report about that though!

Definitely give Wordle a look – and be sure to nominate GoTC for her Nobel Peace Prize and her sainthood! 🙂

Thanks CatMan! We should definitely organise a party and an award (I think a trophy of some description, or a medal) for Girl on the Contrary for her continued selfless acts of inspiration to others.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
