The Adventurer Needs A Rest.

This is just a quick post to let all my readers know that I’m going to be taking a bit of a blogging break.

I don’t know whether it will be a long one and I hope it isn’t; I just want to let you all know. Everything is fine, I’ve just run out of steam at the moment and I am hoping to re-energise my writing muscle.

I’m so very thankful to have made some new friends and to have received such a warm welcome to the blogoshpere – I will return as soon as possible!

In the meantime everyone, take care of yourselves and know that I wish you all the very best.

House Rules. Evil.

Don't be fooled by the innocent exterior.

Throughout history there have been games. Simple games like draughts, complex games like chess and all sorts of other games to entertain and challenge participants.

The goal of many of these games was to bring friends together, allowing them to share some fun and give them the opportunity to be gracious in defeat and humble in victory. To assist this kind of personal development, rules were applied to outline the meaning of colours, pieces and other aspects of the game.

Sister, It’s Your Birthday; Happy Birthday Sister!

January 18th. A day celebrated in my family as it marks the birth of my little sister.

I am so incredibly fortunate to be in the midst of such amazing siblings. I’ve already mentioned my Wolf Brother in previous posts but that doesn’t at all mean that my Super Sister is any less significant in my life.

Today I want to wish her another insanely Happy Birthday and to let her know how much she has meant to me.

I’m Still Here!

This would have come in handy. I kid you not.

Hi everyone, my blog is Adventures and Insights and it’s been 12 days since my last post…

Wait a minute!! I’m not at BA (Blogger’s Anonymous)! It’s not SUPPOSED to be that long between posts! What have I been doing?! You may well ask – in fact, no more than three people have posed that very question. Hmmm.

When Retro Goes Wrong.

There seems to be a bit of a fascination with all things retro at the moment. I’m no fashionista or trend setter/follower but it’s been pretty obvious that there’s currently a bit of a retro revival going on. Maybe it’s been going on for a while now. I have no issue with people’s taste. It’s their own thing and how they choose to express themselves is their business. I’m not judging.

I was walking through the city yesterday and passed a guy wearing this t-shirt:

Did you really?

Hello. My Name Is Inigo Montoya. (It’s Not Really.)

In the spirit of my own belief that every day is an opportunity to make resolutions, I’m not going to harp on about last year and this year and all the things I did and want to do. Instead, I’m just going to live my life and see where this white water raft takes me. It’s so much more fun now that I’m sharing the raft! Got your life-vest and helmet fastened securely, GE? Tres bien!

I’ve been slack over the past week and the next few days are going to pass sans-blogs as well. I sincerely apologise to my dedicated readers – I’m off camping you see; adventuring on dingo-infested (well, not infested but they’ll be there) Fraser Island and there’s not going to be any internet connectivity while I’m away.

But I will continue to post and 2011 is going to be a great year all round. I hope you all have a great year and that 2011 leads a string of years that fill the rest of your lives with fun, laughter, love and adventure.
